A New Hope Live Nativity Pageant
Everyone knows that each holiday season promises fun with family and friends and a cause for planning beautiful celebrations. Most of us know that this time of year inevitably gets filled with frantic shopping, stockings that need stuffing and delicious meal preparations. However, the hustle and bustle of the holiday season often makes little room for the true meaning of Christmas. New Hope church in Eustis, Florida aims to help the holiday hoopla take a breather with a glance back in time with their second annual Living Nativity Pageant.
The live event will be held on the church property located at 19535 Eustis Airport Rd in Eustis, Florida. Over seventy-five volunteers from youngster to Octogenarian dedicate their time, skill and effort-but most of all their hearts, to put together scenes depicting the Garden of Eden, the Proclamation of the Coming Messiah, Shepherds and Angels, the Road to Bethlehem and of course, the Wise Men, Manger and Empty Tomb.
Richard Burguet, Senior Pastor of New Hope states, “We love our Lake County community and think keeping the traditions of our Christmas celebrations alive here is important for all of us. Last year we had more than 800 individuals drive or walk through our Living Nativity, and we expect to double that this season since it is so easy for everyone to experience.”
The event is truly as easy and fun as it is poignant and hopeful as attendees may walk through the multi-scene Living Nativity or can drive-through the event as well, as the narrated tour is broadcasted through a local am radio station. Instructions are given at the beginning of the tour whether walking or driving.
Marking their 30th year in operation, New Hope will hold this special two-day Living Nativity event on December 5th and 6th Walk through tours start at 6:00pm and go to 7:15 pm while drive-throughs begin at 7:30 through 8:30 pm. Project coordinator Hank Dunn offers that "The Living Nativity pageant is designed to help people understand the real reason for the season. We invite everyone to come and experience the joy and wonder of this miraculous season by walking back in time to experience Christmas as it really was; complete with live people and animals. This event is a gift to the community and there is no charge to attend.”
