Lately, there are two things that have been the source of sheer excitement and anticipation in my life. Two things that make my day a little brighter, help me pause for a moment and be present. Two things that, when they happen, put me on the edge of my seat in giddy hope of what’s to come.
These two things are the email stating: Your Package is Tracking and the ring of the doorbell alerting me that said package is on the front porch.
You would have to be living under a rock, or not have an IG account, to not have noticed the explosion of the subscription box shopping trend. I have to admit that Instagram may have pushed me over the edge to push the “checkout” button to buy these things, but I am so happy I did.
From makeup to skincare, and home goods and jewelry, the two boxes I am a happy recipient of are Boxy Charm and Fab Fit Fun.
I wear makeup at least five time a week for work so these boxes have been a source of convenience of not having to shop in-store for many of the products I use daily. Since I’ve been a subscriber, I’ve received makeup palettes, brushes, blush, eyeliners, primers, and lip products…all without stepping foot in an actual store!
Sometimes the makeup is a little out of my comfort zone, but hey, that just means you get to plan a fun night out with friends to rock the season’s IT color on your lids or to sparkle like Edward Cullen in the sun from glittery highlighter.

I’ve used all these products and am so happy they are in my collection. The best part is I can use the brushes and cleaner daily and can have fun and experiment with my look using the other products. I look forward to the wide eyes my 7-year-old daughter will give me when I am sparkling bright like a diamond or when my hubby notices I have “done something different” and he likes it.
It’s these little pleasures in life that help me stop and enjoy the moment, focusing on my needs and doing something for myself. We are all fulltime moms who must indulge in self-care from time-to-time, because if we don’t take a moment for ourselves every now and then, how can we expect to take care of others?
