Negative Effects of Macaroni Kid!

Signing up for the Macaroni Kid Newsletter definitely has some negatives. I never thought I would bring “less” to family lives. Here are a few examples that I just have to admit to my readers:

 
* Less remembering and reminding yourself to visit the MacKid site because the newsletter showed up in your e-mail, perfectly timed for after your coffee at 10:00 am on Wednesday morning, telling you that you have to prepare fun things for your upcoming weekend family time.

* Less money spent trying to manage the entertainment of your family because you found your budget-fitting fun.

* Less time spent scouring the internet trying to find that event that will make your family smile together…in one place.

* Less boredom or hearing “I’m bored” from your MacKids.

* Less time finding the business that can meet your needs whether it is a car repair, pediatrician decision, frozen yogurt shop, hospital, veterinarian, pet care, horse care, etc.

* Less time as parents thinking “I am screwing this up and I am all alone” because you found your pack of parents (through events, playgroups and library time) to encourage and refuel you to the task of being awesome.

* Less time frowning because we found a way to make you smile just once…maybe.

* Less time watching your kids zone out in front of the TV/video game system because we got you out of the house as a family and/or gave you a cool crafty idea for the week.

* Less time researching kids activities for afterschool, school breaks or summer vacation.

* Less money spent on things you thought you would never be able to afford because you WON tickets in a giveaway from us.

* Less gas expended going out of town thinking there is nothing to do in North Lake County.

* Less time stressing about getting the word out to the right audience about your organization’s event. It is a simple submission to our events calendar.

* Less time wondering if that thing you would like to do was fun, exciting, affordable or enjoyable for the ages of your children because "MacKid Was There!" takes the hit and brings you the review.

* My absolute favorite - LESS bickering because your children are stimulated and exhausted!

Well, MacFamilies, I apologize for bringing these negativities into your life. There are probably a lot more. May you somehow muddle through and survive our impact. Please don’t hesitate to share your suffering with a fellow parent or grandparent so that you are not alone in this. Misery loves company.
