Our Vital Earth

A Worm Farm Visit

By Sarah Schwerin April 5, 2017

Every one of us can benefit from a super product that eats garbage, cleans up the environment, reduces landfills and produces natural plant care products. In Apopka, Fl, resides a farm that is devoted to this super product: the worm. Our Vital Earth, off Plymouth Sorrento Rd, bought their farm in 1980. They converted the old chicken farm into a worm farm to increase awareness of the necessity to use natural means to convert our โ€œgreen wasteโ€ into useful bi-products, with the ultimate goal of creating a healthier, cleaner environment for future generations. During a recent trip to Our Vital Earth, our family learned so much about these wiggling wonders. The tour and educational presentation was fun and informative. My boys enjoyed holding the worms and making their own mini worm farms in recycled water bottles. You can visit Our Vital Earth at 6919 Plymouth Sorrento Road Apopka, FL 32712, or on their website: http://ourvitalearth.com/ove/. The farm is open Monday โ€“ Friday from 9am-5pm, Sat. 10 am โ€“ 4pm or by appointment.
