I will always remember the day I became your mom. Our story isn't quite like other mother and son stories. I didn't carry you in my tummy. I didn't hear your heart beating along with my heart. I didn't feel you kick. Nor did I give birth to you. I didn't see you first crawl or take your first steps. I missed your first and second birthday, but the day you came to me at almost three years old, I became your mom! Now, throughout our years together we have grown a mother and son bond that is unbreakable!
When I first met you, you were a frightened little boy who had no idea where you had just been taken, why you were with this strange lady nor why your world had just been turned upside down. On that day, I became your mom. On that day, I took you under my wing like a fragile little bird. Since that day I have been your mom.
As your mom, I have loved you and guided you. I have kissed your boo boos and given you consequences for your actions. As your mom, I have been your Mama Bear. As your mom, I have stood up tall and fought for you. As your mom, I have begged and pleaded for services to meet the needs that you have. As your mom, I have believed in you! As your mom, I love you with all of my heart and will continue to love you in all the days ahead.
Skyler, our story isn't like other moms and sons. You weren't born from my tummy, but you were born in my heart and on that day you became my son and I became your mom.
